Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, said "This news will come as a welcome relief to the parents and families across Leicestershire who spoke up and made sure their concerns were heard.

"I'm pleased to have used my voice and played my part with Alberto Costa MP and fellow Leicestershire MPs to reiterate the impact these proposals would have had on children and specialist nurseries.

"But this isn't over. We don't know what Reform's plans are for SEND in our region; there are far more questions than answers.

"I'll continue to hold the Reform Leadership at Leicestershire County Council to account, and keep urging them to set out their full vision for SEND provision.
