Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, has invited Andy Burnham to hear from people in his constituency.

 The local MP invited the new Prime Minister to visit Hinckley and Bosworth as part of his 'listening tour'.

Andy Burnham is spending a large part of August travelling around the United Kingdom to "hear directly from people in their communities." Burnham says, "I'll be asking one question: what would actually make your life better?"

Dr Luke, a Conservative MP, invited Andy Burnham to visit his constituency to "meet my constituents to get a better understanding of the challenges we face."

The letter, sent on 10th August, went on to say "Some of the concerns that you are looking to talk to people about, such as cost of living pressures and the economy, as well as healthcare, immigration and Local Government reorganisation, are shared by my constituents in Hinckley and Bosworth."

Dr Luke offered to host the new Prime Minister and his team during the visit, adding "I am sure you would find the experience incredibly valuable. It is also a chance to experience all that we have to offer here in Leicestershire!"

The GP-turned-MP signed off the letter with a handwritten message to the Prime Minister, which said: "You would be most welcome".

Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, explained his decision to write to the Prime Minister: "My job is to make sure that people in Hinckley and Bosworth are heard. 

"So I've invited him here to hear from our community.

"This is not about Party politics. If the Prime Minister wants to hear about the concerns of people in the United Kingdom, he should visit areas which are not traditionally Labour."
