County Councillor for Markfield, Desford & Thornton Division

Originally from Northamptonshire, Peter moved to the County in 2007 to read Law at the University of Leicester.

After completing his legal studies Peter went on to train, and qualify, as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

His career to date includes working for a number of Leicestershire businesses, including Next, Aggregate Industries, and Britvic soft drinks.

In 2017 Peter joined the Finance team at Severn Trent where he currently works as Senior Manager within the Internal Audit department.

Political Experience:

In 2017 Peter was elected as the County Councillor Markfield, Desford & Thornton; having previously contested the seat in 2013.

Since his election to Leicestershire County Council Peter has served in a number of roles, most notably as the Chairman of Corporate Governance and then as a Scrutinty Commissioner.

Following the May 2021 local elections Peter joined the County Council's Cabinet, where he is currently the lead member for Transformation & Recovery.

He also sits a Board Member on the Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership.

Outside of work and politics Peter likes to travel, enjoys going to the races, and is a regular theatre goer.
